Hi Ruhuul,
Thanks for the mail.
The reason for this issue is due to the VI editor adding tilde values on all the empty lines. So PMP scrolls all way to the bottom and takes you to the 1000th line. Our team is working on handling this better in our upcoming release. For now, we have created a custom patch to handle this issue for the latest version 8001. We request you to upgrade PMP from 8000 to 8001 version and follow the steps mentioned below to apply the custom patch.
You can download the upgrade packs from here and use the instructions mentioned here to apply the upgrade packs one by one. Please take a backup of the entire PMP directory prior to the upgrade. This way, even if something goes wrong, you can immediately revert back by deleting the entire PMP directory and place the backup in same location to get your PMP up and running again.
Once, upgrade follow the below steps to address the VI issue.
- Stop the PMP service.
- Cut the file named AdventNetPassTrix.jar present in PMP/lib directory and paste it in desktop.
- Do not leave a copy of that file or rename it.
- Download the zip file using the below link and extract it.
- Place the jar file in PMP/lib directory and start the service.
- Now try using SSH and you should be able to use the vi command without any issues.
Please try the same and let us know how it goes.
Note: Please apply this patch only on 8001 version. It will not work on below version.
Thanks & Regards,
Chris
