Hi Arjun,
By default, the secondary server can only be accessed when the primary is down. Otherwise when you try accessing the secondary, you will be automatically routed to primary URL. When primary is down, the secondary will act as a read-only instance. So you can retrieve all the passwords. But you cannot add new password or use the password reset feature. But if you are using MS-SQL DB as the backend, then it will operate in Master-Master mode. So you can add passwords even in the secondary. But for security reasons, the password reset will still be disabled in the secondary.
At present we do not have an option to modify the email template of HA Alert. The name you see there is the hostname of both the boxes captured by PMP. In future, we will provide an option to customize this email alert under Admin-->Email Templates section.
Our upcoming release that should be out in the next few days will support upgrade of both instances. So you do not have to reinstall the secondary when you upgrade PMP the next time. You can just download and apply the patch on both installations directly.
