This is a browser version related issue. Please try using Chrome or Firefox and make sure that it is updated to the latest version. The try saving the custom field setting and it should work fine. The method used by this operation is not supported in some of the older browser versions. But we will be handling this in our upcoming release of PMP.
So please try using a latest browser version and let us know how it goes.
