PMP Linux installation and AD integration

Dear all
I work with PMP on Windows and I was requested to perform a new installation on a Linux system.
I read the following in the Best practice document:

2.3 Installing PMP in Windows Vs Linux
PMP can be installed in Windows and Linux. Though PMP will run equally fine in both the platforms, installation in Windows has some inherent advantages.
 Active Directory Synchronization (for resource & user import) can be leveraged only in Windows installation
 Single Sign-on (users who have logged into the Windows system using their domain account need not separately sign in to PMP) is possible only in Windows installation

Since I cannot perform any test now, I just need to understand what those sentences mean.
I have coupe of questions:
1) can I make PMP load users from AD?
2) can I have people authenticating on PMP with the domain user and password?

Thanks for your help
Best regards
stefano
