Hi Eric,
Thanks for the post.
Instead of taking a backup and restoring. You can follow the
below mentioned simple steps to migrate PMP from one Windows
server to another.
- Stop PMP service, exit tray icon.
- Make sure that the mysqld-nt.exe/postgreSQL process is not running in Task Manager.
- Using command prompt, navigate to <PMP HOME>\bin folder and execute pmp.bat remove (This will remove Password Manager Pro service on the old server)
- Copy and move entire PMP folder to the new server.
- Using command prompt, navigate to <PMP HOME>\bin folder and execute pmp.bat install. (This will install Password Manager Pro service on new server)
- Go to services console and start the service.
- If you want the tray icon, Go to the <PMP HOME> and double click on pmp.exe.
Once the migration is
successful, if you are in the version 6402 and above. Please
move the encryption key(pmp_key.key) to the new server and
specify the correct location inside the manage_key.conf present
inside <PMP-home>\conf directory. Please refer
here
for more information about the
encryption key.
Feel free to write to us if you
have any other questions.
Thanks & Regards,
Chris
